No Sympathy for Poster Boy

For the past few years, a street artist from Brooklyn, New York has emerged and made a name for himself in the local subway stations. Poster Boy started this new art form out of boredom while waiting for the subway on his way to work. He uses a razor to cut out pieces of several different advertisements in the subway platforms and rearranges them to create a whole new message. When asked about his work, in several interviews, he refers to it being apart of a 'Poster Boy movement' because other people have now produce similar unsigned work in the New York City subways that imitate his work. Poster Boy has said in the past that he does not want his work in galleries because he does not care to make money from what he does, but recently his work has been exhibited in galleries in the Eastern District of Brooklyn.

Due to missing his court date for a previous arrest in May 2010, he was sentenced to 11months in jail. He was taken into custody immediately when he went in to apologize because the judge did not have sympathy for the confusion of his court date. The ruling was shocking to Poster Boy, he expected he would get 3 years probation, not jail time.

Poster Boys work can be seen on youtube.com and flicker.
